The Patuxent Aquatics Club (PAC) is a registered USA Swimming (USAS) swim team, which 
competes within Potomac Valley Swimming (PVS).  Our season is divided into two seasons
annually.  Short Course from mid-September through the end of March and Long Course 
season from April to June.  Practices during both seasons are held at the Fairland 
Aquatics Center in Laurel MD.  The team is open to swimmers 5 to 18 years of age and is
divided into six groups or levels.  As a member of PAC, swimmers will have an opportunity
to participate in USAS Swim Meets comparable to their ability – The swimmer/parent(s) 
select from the meets that are on the PAC Meet Schedule – Swimmers MUST participate in 
Four (4) swim meets during the course of the Swim Season….In addition the swimmer/parent(s)
work with the coaches to select swimming events in which to participate.  All Swimmers 
MUST join USAS as an athlete to participate in both practices and meets.

Swim Groups and Levels: Swimmer and Parents Select a set group of Practice Days.  Please 
see attachment for additional requirements for each level.

Little Blue Penguins (Level 1) – Swimmers aged 11 and Younger.  Recommend practice 2 times
per week.

Rock Hopper Penguins (Level 2) – Recommend Swimmers practice 2 or 3 times per week.

Chinstrap Penguins (Level 3) – Recommend Swimmers practice 2 or 3 times per week.

Royal Penguins (Level 4) – Swimmers must be in at least the 6th grade.  Recommend practice
2 or 3 times per week.

King Penguins (Level 5) – Swimmers must be in at least the 8th grade.  Recommend practice 
4 or 5 times per week.

Emperor Penguins (Level 6) – Recommend Swimmers practice 4 or 5 times per week.

Practice Schedule (attached) – You select a set of Practice Days (All Swimmers should 
complete all School Homework prior to practice) - All practices Start after Labor Day.  
Practices will Start on September 7th at the FAIRLAND Aquatics Center.

Practice Days will NOT be scheduled for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve
/Day, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday, and other dates as announced.

Program Fees per swimmer:  
PAC Program Fees: $115.00 per month (aged 12 & Under in Levels 1-4)/$135 per month (Levels
5-6 and swimmers aged 13+) 
PAC Team Registration Fee:  $75.00 (Yearly Fee – due at registration)
USA Swimming Fee:  $98.00 (Yearly Fee – due at registration)
